After we dropped Kinsley and Karter off at school, Kamryn and I came home to clean and get ready for the day. Kamryn loves to play in the bathtub, so I figured I would let her play a while so I could get a head start on the house work. So, I put her in the bath and went to start the laundry and she starts calling me right away. I was talking to her from the laundry room, but I didn't go into the bathroom right away. Anyway, she keeps calling me and she is starting to sound really upset, so I think to myself, "I better go see what's up". I go to the bathroom and there she is playing and having a good time. So I talk to her and turn around to leave the room when I realize the reason she had been so upset. She had pooed in the water, but the little turkey had taken care of it before I got there. She had fished everything out of the water and dumped it over the side of the tub. So needless to say, I had a huge mess to clean up. And for obvious reasons, there aren't any pictures to go along with this post. Thanks for reminding me that there is more excitement in my life right now besides building a house, Sharee.

On that note, the roof is finally on our house and the electric is all wired. The contractors say the drywallers should be here next week. Yeah!!

I promised future posts on the house, but things have been a little crazy around here lately. Jarrod has been working the grave yard shift, so in an attempt to allow him to get sleep during the day, the kids and I don't hang out around the house much. We usually get up, get dressed and go to Sharee's to play or, go to Winslow, or Holbrook, or anywhere but here where I don't have to constantly remind them that "Daddy is sleeping and we have to be quiet". Luckily Jarrod only works graves the next couple of nights and then he goes back to day shifts for a while. Any ways! Things had been moving so quickly on the house for a while that we were really getting excited, but in the last week or so, it seems like nothing has been done. The contractors were supposed to have painted trim last week so the roofers could come and put the roof on but apparently their sprayer broke and they couldn't finish painting. Jarrod and I were getting to the point where we were going to go and offer to paint it all by hand. But, it looks like they have finally finished and the roofers have been up there all morning working. So, maybe we will have a roof by the end of the week! The pictures that I do have are really old, we don't even have the trusses up in any of the. Also, we do have windows in now, but I'll have to take some newer photos later today.

So we heard milk is good for your skin

Kamryn decided the other day that if milk is good, yogurt must be even better. I set her in the high chair the other day and walked away for a few minutes and this is what I came back to. She is such a nut! She has really enjoyed playing in her food lately. She continued to enjoy the yogurt until we finally managed to get her in the bath tub. Thanks for making every day an adventure, Kamryn.

It's about time!!

A picture of our amazing view

Finally, work has begun on our house. Seems like we have been waiting forever. We got a call late last week from our contractor letting us know that they were going to start digging the footers. We ran up to the property right away and watched our friend Kenny work the backhoe. So exciting to finally see our dreams taking flight. We are so excited about the house and the location. I told Jarrod I didn't think the location could be any more perfect. We have spectacular views all around us. Especially off the north end of the property. Look forward to more posts as we enter every phase of building!

Only About A Month Late

Kinsley just (Aug 11 same day as the first day of school) celebrated her 6th birthday. I can't believe how stinkin' fast these kids grow up! Well, we had a fun little princess themed party at the park here in Joe City. We played games, danced to Kinsley's new Hannah Montana CD, opened lots of presents and had some yummy cupcakes.

Major Renovation

We have been staying with Shari (Jarrod's Mom) for the last two months. We have been waiting to start construction on our house. It has been interesting since she is in the middle of completely remodeling her entire house. The kids have really gotten into the spirit of making over Grandma's house. Just the other day, with Grandma's permission, they started peeling off the wall paper border in her bathroom. Kinsley stuck with it until the entire room was finished. Karter on the other hand, did a little bit and then enjoyed a nice foot bath.

Tunnels in the sand

A while back, my kids had their cousins up to play. They were out in the back yard forever when I finally decided I should check on them. I went out in the back yard to find them busy digging and tunneling in the sand. I stood there and watched them for a long time, but they were having so much fun that they did'nt even know I was outside too. So, I ran back in and got my camera to take some pic's of them. Seeing them making tunnels in the sand totally took me back to my childhood in Woodruff. I can't even imagine the number of hours we must have spent swimming in the Little Colorado and digging tunnels in the sand. Ahh..took me back to the good old days.
